Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we are actually asked, answered plainly. If yours is not here, ask us — the answer usually ends up on this page afterwards.
What does Autorior Technologies do?
We build and support business software in Dhaka. Three things, mainly: Calventory, our inventory and accounts software for wholesale businesses; company websites and online stores built on our own platform; and custom software for businesses whose process does not fit anything sold off the shelf. More than 130 businesses across Bangladesh run on something we built, and we support all of it ourselves.
Where are you based, and do you work outside Dhaka?
Our office is at Happy Arcade, Dhanmondi-03, Dhaka-1215. Inside Dhaka we come to you for setup, training and support visits. Outside Dhaka we work through our agents and online — screen sharing, phone and remote support — which in practice handles nearly everything except the first installation.
How much does it cost?
It depends on what you need, and we would rather quote you honestly than publish a number that turns out to be wrong for your business. A shop with one branch and a business with five are not the same job. Call 01717238363 or send us a message and we will give you a real figure, not a starting price that grows.
What is Calventory?
Calventory is our inventory and accounts software, built for wholesale businesses in Bangladesh — hardware, building materials, agro-vet and distributors who sell on credit. It handles stock and purchase, sales and challan, party ledger and receivables, and profit-and-loss reporting, with 31 built-in reports. It is in Bengali and runs on both a computer and an Android phone.
Can you move our existing data from Tally or Excel?
Yes, and it is a normal part of the job rather than an extra. We bring across your item list with the names your staff actually use, your opening stock, and your outstanding party balances — what you are owed and what you owe — so the system shows your real position from the first day. Where the records are in a register rather than a file, we type them in.
Do we have to switch everything at once?
No, and we would advise against it. We run the old method and the new one side by side until the numbers agree and your staff — not us — say it matches. That period costs some duplicated effort and it is what turns a system people were told to use into one they trust.
Who provides support after installation?
The engineers who wrote the software. Not a call centre, not a reseller, and not a first tier who takes a message. That matters because a support agent can tell you which button to press but cannot tell you why a balance is wrong. When the answer is that the software is doing the wrong thing, we can correct it — and the correction reaches everyone we support.
Is the software in Bengali?
Calventory is, throughout. That is deliberate: the person entering sales at four in the afternoon is usually more confident in Bengali than in English, and that gap shows up as data-entry errors long before anyone complains about it. Websites we build can be in Bengali, English or both.
Can it be used on a mobile phone?
Yes. Calventory has a real Android application, not a mobile version of the website — it logs in by fingerprint, uses the camera, sends notifications and updates itself. It does need an internet connection: the app works against your live data rather than a copy on the phone, so what you see on the phone and what the counter sees are never out of step.
Can Calventory produce an NBR Mushak 6.3 VAT challan?
Yes. We generate it to the gazette form, including the eleven-column table that is frequently printed with ten. We worked the requirements out from the VAT Act and rules rather than copying another vendor's template, which is why the form we produce matches the one an NBR officer expects to see.
Do you build websites as well?
Yes — company websites, product catalogues and online stores, on a platform we wrote and maintain rather than a theme that will stop being updated. Every site includes an admin dashboard so your own staff can change products, prices, notices and contact details without calling a developer. Nine live sites run on it today, and improvements we make reach all of them at once.
Do you build custom software, or only sell products?
Both. When no product fits — the process is specific to how you work, or the gap is between two systems you already run — we build it, in .NET and SQL Server, and support it afterwards the same way we support everything else. We will also tell you when buying something existing is the better answer, because often it is.
What happens to our data if we stop working with you?
It is yours and it stays reachable. Data lives in standard SQL Server, reports export to Excel, and nothing is kept in a private format whose only purpose is to make leaving difficult. Being able to walk away is what keeps a software supplier honest, and that includes us.
